PARENT QUESTIONNAIRES

A big thank you to the 35 families who completed and returned their questionnaires.  The comments were really positive; we are currently analysing these as we prepare our School Development Plan for next year.  An over-view of responses will be published in due course.  As ever, if you have any comments (positive or negative) please let us know verbally or in writing.

BUILDING UPDATE

Further teething problems meant that work did not commence this week.  However we have been assured that the project will re-commence on Monday and the completion date of 21 August will still be met.

WHOLE SCHOOL PHOTO

Due to problems with the original photo shoot, Concept will be coming back in at 9:30am on Thursday, 18 June to re-take the whole school photo.

TESCO VOUCHERS – LAST CALL

Monday is the LAST CHANCE to get these in, so we would be grateful if you could bring any outstanding vouchers in to the office, counted if possible, on Monday.

PE KIT

An increasing number of children are coming to school without PE kit (including swimming kit).  Please ensure your child has PE kit in school on a DAILY basis.

RE-CONSTRUCTION OF FOOTPATH

North Somerset Council’s School Travel Advisor has informed us that work will commence on Monday, 22 June to re-construct the footpath between numbers 98 and

148 Clevedon Road
.  Temporary traffic lights will be set up, which may cause a bit of traffic congestion, but the work is only due to last 6 – 7 days.  Any problems need to be taken up with Alex Munday (Engineer) direct on 01934 426624.

FLUTE/GUITAR LESSONS

Please note that there will be an additional flute lesson on Friday, 19 June – as well as the usual Tuesday lesson next week.  There will be NO guitar lesson next Thursday.

SCIENCE FAIR

On Monday, 22 June, we will be holding a science fair from 2 – 3pm.  There will be ten different activities going on in various rooms around the school for the children to do.  Parents are warmly invited to come along and walk round with their children.

YEAR 1/2 MUSIC CLUSTER

Year 1/2 have been busy learning songs from around the world and on Wednesday, 24 June they will be taking part in a music cluster at Mary Elton Primary School.  The children will need to wear plain, brightly coloured T-shirts with their school trousers/skirts.  We need to arrive at the school by 9:45am and will finish at 11:30am to return to school.  If any parents are able to help with lifts, could you please fill in the form below (you might like to stay and listen to the music).

Please sign and return the permission slip to Mrs Townsend or the school office.  Thank you.

YEAR 3/4 TO GOBLIN COMBE

The third visit will take place on Friday, 26 June.  The coach will pick the children up at 12:30 and will return at around 4:40pm.  The workshop will go on unless there is severe weather, so the children will need appropriate waterproof clothing (or sun hats and cream!) and footwear (wellington boots are fine).  Please sign and return the attached permission slip.

RECEPTION

Now that we are in the last term, Mrs Woodall would like the Reception children to come in to class on their own each morning.  This is to prepare them for their transition to Year 1.

CYCLING PROFICIENCY

For those doing the above course, please note that the session scheduled for Friday, 19 June is cancelled.  Instead an additional session on Thursday, 16 July will take place.

MOVING UP

On Wednesday, 22 July, the children will have the opportunity to spend some time in their new classes.

                             TICKENHAM CHURCH FESTIVAL

A reminder that some of our Year 5/6 children will be showcasing their NOSCARS (animated films) at the festival tomorrow from 10:30 – 11am.  It would be lovely if as many as possible could support them.

ALSO AT THE FESTIVAL ON SATURDAY …. there will be a Teddy bears picnic from 2.30pm with games, poems, bun decorating etc. and a ‘singing and dancing sensation’ which will be presented to the audience at the end of the afternoon and repeated on Sunday morning during the 10:30am service.

VILLAGE MARKET

Unfortunately Nigel Ashton will not be able to conduct a "Surgery" at tomorrow’s village market.

Kind regards

Mr P Sainsbury
