Welcome to the TSA
The official aim of the TSA is to advance the education of the pupils in school. In practice this means lots of social events for children, staff and parents and some fundraising for school activities and facilities.
How do the children benefit from the TSA?
A fantastic school social life which includes school discos, Christmas parties, talent shows and Summer fairs to name a few! Also, the direct benefit of additional school facilities like the gazebo, the can-o-worms wormery, extra ICT equipment and more books. On top of all that, the TSA has helped to subsidise school trips such as the Year 5/6 camp and various theatre productions at the village hall. Last year, the TSA raised a fantastic £4000, all of which is for the direct benefit of the children.
How do parents benefit from the TSA?
In addition to seeing the children benefit from the additional extras provided by the TSA, parents also have the chance to get to know other parents and the staff of the school and have a few good nights out! In the past, we have enjoyed a Murder Mystery evening, fashion and beauty evenings, a barn dance, quiz nights and a masked ball.
How does the TSA work?
The TSA is run largely by staff and parents and is aided brilliantly by grandparents, local villagers and ex-pupils. There is a committee of 15 members who co-ordinate the organisation of events and fundraising activities as well as overseeing the spending of money raised. In addition to the committee, there are many parents who give their time and skills to support the TSA. Some of the many varied jobs include:
-
Make or sell cakes once a month at the Village Market
-
Wrap presents for Santa to give out at the school Christmas party
-
Design a parents social evening
-
Run a lucky dip stall at the Summer Fair
-
Co-ordinate all the helpers to manage a talent show for the children
-
Do some face painting and hair spraying at various events
-
Become a committee member (and join us in the pub once a month!)
As you can see, there are big tasks, small tasks, regular jobs and one off jobs and we?re always open to ideas for new jobs!
